Refund Policy
Effective date: 2026-05-22
This Refund Policy explains the refund procedures and criteria for access pass purchases on Mathfolis (mathfolis.mathsystem.dev). It complies with the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (the "E-Commerce Act") and the Content Industry Promotion Act of the Republic of Korea.
1. Nature of the Access Pass
Every product sold through the Service is a digital content usage right (access pass) that allows the use of AI-generated AP Calculus practice problems on the site for a fixed period, with the following characteristics:
- It can be used only during the validity period specified at purchase.
- Usage rights automatically expire when the validity period elapses.
- An access pass may be used only by the member who purchased it and may not be transferred to others.
- It may be used only for the designated services on the site (AI problem generation, mock exams, weakness analysis).
2. Refund Criteria and Calculation
- An access pass is activated immediately on payment and the right to use the digital content is granted at that point.
- If a member has not used the Service even once after activation — for example, has generated no practice problems — the full payment amount is refunded, provided the request is made within 7 days of the payment date (Article 17(1) of the E-Commerce Act).
- Where paragraph 2 does not apply (the Service has been used at least once, or more than 7 days have elapsed since payment), the amount corresponding to the elapsed usage period is deducted and the remainder is refunded. The deduction and refund are calculated as follows:
- Daily rate = payment amount ÷ validity period of the pass (days)
- Elapsed days = days from activation (counted as day 1) to the date of the refund request (by calendar date, Korea Standard Time)
- Refund = payment amount − (daily rate × elapsed days)
- Fractions of the smallest unit of the payment currency are rounded down in the deducted amount — cents for USD, won for KRW — so rounding is never to the member's disadvantage.
- An access pass whose validity period has already elapsed is excluded from refunds.
- Consumers in the EU/EEA and the UK have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, which is lost once the digital content has begun to be used. Where that right applies and has not been lost, it prevails over paragraph 3.
3. How to Request a Refund
- Please submit refund requests to the customer support email (mathfolis.support@gmail.com).
- Please include the following information with your request:
- Membership email address
- Date/time and amount of payment
- Name of the purchased access pass product
- Reason for the refund
4. Refund Processing Time and Method
- The Company will review refund eligibility and notify the member within 3 business days of receiving the request.
- Refunds are made to the original payment method used at the time of purchase, by reversing the original transaction.
- International payments (USD) made through PayPal, where the Company is the seller, are refunded by reversing the original PayPal transaction. Subject to the payment gateway's settlement schedule this completes within 7 business days, and the actual credit date may take additional time depending on PayPal and the payer's card or bank (typically 5–10 business days).
- International payments (USD) purchased through the Company's reseller (merchant of record) are refunded by the reseller. Where the Company approves a refund, it informs the reseller of what has been agreed and the reseller refunds the original payment method; the Company does not pay the buyer directly. An approved refund is processed within 14 days of approval.
- Domestic payments (KRW)are completed within 7 business days subject to the payment gateway's settlement schedule; the actual credit date may take additional time depending on the card issuer or carrier (typically 5–10 business days).
5. Grounds for Refusing a Refund
The Company may refuse a refund request in the following cases:
- The member's account has been suspended or terminated for violation of terms, fraudulent use, etc.
- The same member is found to repeatedly abuse the purchase-refund cycle.
- The payment is suspected of being fraudulent, such as payment under another person's name or identity theft.
- A refund is restricted under applicable laws.
- For international payments (USD) purchased through the Company's reseller, the reseller may decline a refund or approve only part of it under its own refund policy or its fraud and refund-abuse policy.
